The NL1 and NL2 assets comprise the flagship Q10-A gas field and the Q10-B, Q11-B and M10-A/M11 discoveries offshore the Netherlands.
Q10-A
Status: In production
The Q10-A field straddles the Q10-A and Q07 production licences, approximately 22 kilometres offshore and 46 kilometres northwest of Amsterdam. The field produces gas from the Volpriehausen, Zechstein Carbonate, Zechstein Clastics and Slochteren reservoirs. Gas production commenced in January 2019, and 6 wells are currently producing.
The wells are currently producing via the Q10-A platform, connected by a 42 km pipeline to the P15-D production facilities south-west of Q10-A where it is processed and transported to market.
Orion
Status: Pre-development
The Orion Oil field was a discovery made by Kistos NL2 in 2021, following the drill and flow test of a well into the Vlieland sandstone formation. The oil accumulation is located in a shallow horizon above the producing Q10-A gas field intervals and all former wells had oil shows when penetrating this horizon.
As Operator, Kistos has continued to mature the Orion oilfield development towards a final investment decision, with the field recently completed the Select Phase of studies. The development concept assumes wells developed from the Q10-A platform, producing oil via ESPs which would be commingled into the wet gas export line to P15-D. Additional modifications at the third party platform would be required to process this for onward transport and sale.
M10-A and M11
Status: Appraisal
The M10-A and M11 gas discoveries are located north of the Wadden Islands. The M10-A field was discovered in 1977 by Pennzoil and is the smaller of the two discoveries. The M11-A field was discovered by NAM in 1982 with a vertical well which was cased, perforated and tested. Due to various technical reasons the well was plugged and abandoned and the field was never developed.
Kistos is working closely with the local authorities, regulators, environmental agencies, and communities, to prepare an appraisal drilling campaign to confirm the field’s resources and reserves.
Donkerbroek, Donkerbroek-West, and Akkrum-11
Status: Decommissioning
The Donkerbroek and Akkrum well sites are located onshore the Netherlands. These consist of three existing wells HRK-01, DKK-03, and DKK-04. Until 2018 these wells produced gas which was treated by, and exported from a nearby gas processing plant. These consisted of three wells, HRK-01, DKK-03 and DKK-04, all of which were permanently plugged and abandoned during a campaign in 2023.
These wells and facilities are in the process of being decommissioned.
